Me, in general.
For those of you who have read this section before, I am updating it; my previous entry was almost a year old. To make things easier, I will simply list 10 general things you might want to know about me. These tid-bits might supplement what I write in my blog.
1. Let’s start simple. I am attending a 4-year University on the coast of Virginia. Currently, I am a senior majoring in Environmental Science (basically Biology with a concentration in Environmental Studies) and minoring in Chemistry.
2. I was almost an English major. But I hike more than I read.
3. I have two best friends, dubbed Cher and Lafonda on this blog. We share an apartment at the present and live together quite wonderfully.
4. In my younger years, I was a competitive equestrian.
5. I only have half of my thyroid on account of having a benign tumor on the right side; this called for surgical removal of that side my freshman year of college.
6. People say I look exactly like my mother. I wish I did; she’s beautiful and has the heart of a 15-year-old.
7. I spent three weeks in China this past summer for a study abroad program.
8. I have stabbed my left index finger with a fork prong on accident once. Years ago, the night before Thanksgiving, I was helping my mother fork the sweet potatoes to go in the oven for souffle. I steadied the potato with my left hand and stabbed with the other. Luckily, I missed my fingernail and bone; it healed quite nicely.
9. I talk with a heavy southern accent when I am on the phone with relatives or friends back home. My accent goes away when I am in interviews, giving tours (I am a campus tour guide), and mostly when I am at school.
10. I can’t stand being cold or hungry and get very irritable when I am either.
And there you have it! Me in a nut-shell! Ya’ll come back now, ya hear?!
